Basil

Basil is thought to be native to India however, now is most commonly used in Mediterranean and southeast Asian dishes. There are many different varieties of basil and the flavours can differ tremendously from sweet to aniseed.

Basil thrives in warm weather with lots of sunlight and doesn’t grow very well in colder climates.

Basil is a good source of vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium and iron.
